Our Lady’s Abingdon

Abingdon, Oxford

OLA is a thriving and highly-regarded independent day school for boys and girls aged 3-18 years. The school, which was founded in 1860, is set in pleasant grounds within walking distance of the centre of Abingdon and a few miles from Oxford. We welcome boys and girls of every faith and none and our ethos is inclusive. OLA aims to develop the individual talents of each pupil, believing that every human being is created to become a unique person with gifts that need to be recognised and valued. We first welcomed boys into the senior school in September 2009, when they were admitted to Year 7 and the Lower Sixth. The school is now completely co-educational.

The facilities on offer are extensive. Building programmes over recent years have provided excellent teaching facilities for subjects across the curriculum, including a spacious Sixth Form Centre. A major building programme was completed a number of years ago which included a new auditorium, drama studio, science laboratory, exhibition and reception area, teaching spaces and a library/resource centre. We have since extended our Sixth Form Centre, created and Design & Technology Suite and extended our dining area.
